Private Residence Horse Boarding Rescue, Ca
Welcome! My name is Melissa. I am married to a wonderful man named Brooks in 2008. Brooks is a Mechanical Engineer working in Auburn along with helping me at the barn. He has ridden with me in the past but its not his thing lol (we all have our "thing")
We have 3 children who you will see at the barn most days helping with ranch chores and riding horses.
Hailey has been riding since she was 2 and is beyond horse crazy. She rides English and loves jumping anything she can! She enjoys the adventure of the trails as well. Hailey is a natural horse girl full of love spunk and the desire to help other kids learn about horses and sometimes she's even out there helping the beginner adults!
My son Ryan i'm sorry to say did NOT get the horse crazy gene like Hailey but still loves to ride on occasion when the rest of us are going. His passion is building things with Legos meant for 16 year olds and creating amazing things. He got his dads engineer mind which is great and amazing watching him at work. Such a smart kind loving boy!
Alexa....oh Alexa lol she is one precious and amazing little girl born on Valentines day. As my friend said at Alexas birth, "She was born of love on the day of love". She steals the hearts of all around her. As for her and the horses she screams of joy and excitement when she sees horses in any form! It can be in a book, a toy, a picture or the real thing. Once on a horse we have to pry her hands off the saddle while she's screaming because she doesn't want to get off. I'm pretty sure she did get the horse crazy gene .
As for me my first time riding horses was when I was 2 years old. Horses have always been and continue to be a stress reliever for me. For those of you wondering what I do with my horses, I enjoy trail riding more than anything...relaxing getting lost in the beauty of nature and just forgetting about the every day stresses of life!
In 2014 I had a life changing horse related accident that put me in a vegetative state as i was not wearing a helmet. Needless to say helmets are now required regardless of age. I still refer to it as my greatest blessing and journey which was documented via video and people helping me type blog like posts. You can read all about my accident on Facebook under "Melissas Helmet Crusade" or click HERE.
The horses at Meadowbrook Equestrian Center are cared for and given the utmost respect and care they deserve. They will and do receive the exact same care as my own horses receive. We strive to keep the environment a wholesome and comfortable place for all who visit. If you ever have any questions or concerns in regards to the center or conduct by anyone at the center please don’t hesitate to contact us immediately so we may do our best to resolve the issue.
