Training and Lessons

Trainer: Megan Engellenner

Megan is a resident boarder and has been riding horses since she was eight and has worked with numerous breeds and disciplines. Over the past eighteen years she has been competing and training in such disciplines as join-up (for starting horses under saddle), hunters, jumpers, barrel racing, western pleasure, trail riding, and dressage. All of the horses Megan has owned, Megan has started under saddle herself; the first was started when she was age thirteen.  Over the past ten years Megan has been riding and competing in dressage. Dressage is the method by which horse and rider are taught to maintain and develop a seamless form of communication through riding; often called ballet on horseback. Dressage is a wonderful foundation for every horse and discipline, especially good for beginner riders. Megan emphasizes creating horse and rider balance and a solid knowledge of basic cues to form a relaxed communication between horse and rider. Lessons are preferred to be given at Meadowbrook Equestrian Center. Cost of gas to be evaluated if traveling to other locations. Cash is preferred at time of service; for colt training full amount is to be paid in advance.
